WP1 – Project Management

This WP focuses on the overall management of the project, ensuring a high level of progress planning and controlling as well as a high quality of all the project deliverables. This WP is the interface between project partners and the EU services and will external bodies.
WP2 - Implementation

The main activities in this WP are defining requirements elicitation and specification based on generalisation of use cases and input from pilot field studies, definition and design of an open common architecture for eco-mobility and eco-freight (helped by information from existing and planned individual components, methods and services) as well as development of general methodologies for the modelling, adaptation and usage of the domain-independent CO-GISTICS reference architecture.

The main objective of this work package is to prepare the CO-GISTICS-services for deployment in the pilot sites, and make them ready for the evaluation phase.

Along 2014, a big effort has been done in the WP2 around the technical details of the pilot sites and the reference architecture. Main outcomes are:
- Services specification: functional specification of the five piloted cooperative logistics services, combining cooperative mobility services and intelligent cargo concept with real-life logistical aspects and taking into account the concrete context of the different pilots sites.
- Reference architecture and SW enablers: description of the reference architecture based on the analysis of the business requirements towards the pilot sites, the selected approach to propose a conceptual architecture and cloud-oriented infrastructure, as a basis for the design of all Co-gistics Pilot Sites’ architectures. As well, an identification and description of the core software enablers that are part of the architecture as well as software components deployed already in the sites.
- Pilot specification: Each of the CO-GISTICS pilot sites has designed the local technical architecture for all site-specific deployed services. This include the specification of which are the services and SW platform that request adaptation to enable integration with new enablers as well as deploying the cooperative logistics services.
WP4 - Evaluation

This WP connects the different work packages through establishing an evaluation framework, defining the experimental design and assessing the different services at all the pilot sites. The overall aim is to evaluate the impact of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure cooperative systems based on real life conditions.

Three important tasks were carried out in 2014:

- Evaluation Framework – Definition of the overall evaluation framework for the project, taking into account the experimental procedure, the evaluation criteria and the performance indicators defined in tasks 4.3 and 4.2 respectively.
- Evaluation criteria and performance indicators – Reception of inputs from WP6 (Business models) related to the indicators to be measured by the assessment tools developed in the assessment tool. This activity also identified the data to be collected, in order to estimate/calculate the indicators.
- Pilot operation specifications - Delivered the experimental procedure to task 4.1, based on the data to be collected. It and defined the configuration of the baseline and functional operation phases.

Tasks 4.4 (Assessment tools) will start in March-April 2015 and will deliver the set of tools for both monitoring the pilots as well as and analysing the collected data.
WP5 – Dissemination

This WP is closely linked to the other WPs as it informs externally about CO-GISTICS progress, events and main achievements. The objective of the dissemination plan is to create awareness about the project, to promote the project results to the different defined target groups, to encourage the exploitation of these results and to guarantee a wide deployment of the project after its life.

A stronger focus is put on maintaining political support from pilot cities in order to ensure a smooth implementation of the project work program and to guarantee the project continuation after its life. Local authorities function as local dissemination leaders. Dissemination will also publicise the European Union’s support and its policy towards the deployment of ITS.

In 2015, this WP will focus on the promotion of the project at events as well as on engaging, together with the other partners, local stakeholders and to help them to understand the benefits of CO-GISTICS services. A key event will be the 8th ECITL (European Conference on Transport and Logistics) which will be hosted under the umbrella of CO-GISTICS in conjunction with the 22nd ITS World Congress in Bordeaux.
